Day 12

Went out and bought Candyland today. Hayes drew the lollipop girl and totally kicked our trash. Then he did a victory lap running around like Lighting McQueen. We don't raise competitive children now do we?...

Day 11

My niece Macee came over to play with Hayes & Kamri today. Hayes and Macee were hiding in the closet and then jumping out saying ROOAARR! trying to scare Kamri. They were having so much fun.

Day 10

Bracken took the camera to work today and I forgot after he got home. I went to a photography class tonight so maybe now I'll have some mad photography skills. j/k

Since I don't have photos I'll just tell you the sight from today I want to remember.

I bathed Hayes and Kamri and got them in their PJ's (Bracken was at a church BBall game) and read them a book. Then I put them in their beds and since they are sharing a room now I just stood so I could see both of them and sang them a good night song. They both just sat their staring at me and fell asleep as I sang. I loved it! As I was wondering why this never happened before I realized it was 10 and neither of them got a nap today. No wonder they were actually happy to be in their beds! humm...maybe I should deprive them of their naps more often!

Okay and just so I can say I did post a picture every day. Here is a picture I found on the computer. I have my parent's old computer and when I was in high school there was a webcam that my little brother and sister and I would just take random crazy faced picture. (so don't kill me heather) but here are a few :) Hopefully they are funny to you but I couldn't stop laughing, I guess cause I remember how much fun we had messing around with that camera.

Day 7

Cosmic Bowling for FHE
Hayes beat both of us! Apparently we need bumpers too.
Kamri wasn't liking Bracken's white shirt since it was glowing so bright.

(I wish I knew my camera better so I could have gotten clear cosmic pictures)

Progress

I know this isn't such exciting information that I HAVE to share it to the world...but it was exciting in the world of Hayes and Skye.

Hayes went pee in the toilet 5 times today.

He had three pee accidents and ended up going poop in his pull-ups but I think he did pretty good for the first day. We started at 9am and by 11:30 I had given him a ton of saltines and water but still nothing coming out of him despite going to the toilet every 15 minutes. Then I went to change the wash and Hayes ran out of the kitchen. I was afraid he was running to his room to hide and go to the bathroom so I ran back there and he had pulled his pants down and sat down and peed on the toilet all by himself. It was just a tiny bit but I was so excited! I never thought I could be so excited about bodily waste. Needless to say right after that he ended up peeing the rest in the kitchen but hey...at least the first time he did it on his own!
So hopefully tomorrow we will make more progress and maybe even get him to go "number 2" in the toilet.
As for Kamri...she did take three sucks of formula from the sippy cup. I'm calling that good enough progress for today! Hopefully we make more progress this week as well. I'm not too worried about her being completely weaned yet but I'm hoping we are going to be able to go on a trip the first of March so hopefully by then she'll take a sippy cup or bottle easily.

Day 6

WHAT?
I'll explain. In high school I was on the swim team and a few weeks before state we had what was called "hell week" (it's okay if you put it in quotation marks right? ;)) We would have to do super hard swimming workouts while wearing clothes...and shoes. We'd have to run up and down the stairs of the 3 story slide and pretty much anything our coach could think of that would get us as close to throwing up from exhaustion as possible. I remember going home and trying to decide if I'd rather fall into bed or devour every food item in sight. It was hard stuff. Well, I have decided that I am giving myself a "Mom's H-E-double hockey stick week"
This picture depicts the focus of the week.
Toilet train Hayes and get Kamri to take a bottle or a sippy cup.
I know it's a little crazy to try and get both done in the same week but I figure if you are going to have two hard weeks...why not just have one difficult week, right? I guess it might sound a tad bit pessimistic but I figure if we get through this week and successfully wean Kamri and get Hayes potty trained....even more reason to celebrate if it really wasn't that bad
Any suggestions?

Day 5

It was a fun Saturday. Bracken and I went to the temple in the morning and went to a birthday dinner tonight at Bracken's parent's house. I forgot to get the camera out today so this picture is from yesterday.

My friend Erin inspired me with her post about making something your kids love. Hayes has been obsessed with the Thomas the train book we got from the library so we made a train out of boxes. Not quite as cute as her robot (we lack cute craft supplies) but Hayes doesn't seem to care. We had fun gluing boxes together...now if only we had had blue spray paint to be like Thomas. It was fun to see him "choo chooing" across the kitchen floor with it this morning. Doing stuff like this is waaayy more fun then trying to keep the house clean so I think we'll be trying to do this more often.

Day 1

Being a younger silbing is tough.

Hayes was kissing her feet and he has only bit her once before (when she was two weeks old) so I didn't think anything of it and then she screamed. The mark was deeper then that at first but I didn't want to go running for the camera like a bite mark was a good thing.

(I'm in a blogging rut so to motivate myself. I'm copying an idea from my sister-in-law to do a picture a day for 30 days.)

Thank you

Thank you President Bush for sticking up for what you believe in and not backing down.
It's what the world needs...a man with integrity. I'm not one to really talk about my political opinion much, maybe because I know enough to know I don't know anything at all. BUT.. I am grateful that we had a President that would do what he thought was best for the nation. EVEN when people (with much less information to know about the decision) hated him for it. I hope the history books are nice to him although unfortunately they'll probably follow the media's bias. I love this picture because I think it is one trait that most great leaders have. He's the president...yet he still takes time for one on one time with his wife, you just know he loves her. Now all who are out there thinking I'm just naive and that doesn't matter...i disagree.
Thank You President Bush!
P.S. You did have some funny blunders in your speeches but at least you didn't botch it when you were taking the oath of office!
