Yesterday I was sitting at the table, I don't remember what I was doing but obviously I was looking pretty lazy. Hayes came out of the master bedroom.
Hayes: Mom, come step into my office.
Me: umm ok? where might your office be?
Hayes: Here (pointing into my bedroom)
This intrigued me, his office? where did he get that from.
So I stepped in.
Me: What do you do in your office?
Hayes: Mom you clean this up while I jump on the bed. Then wash the walls, while I do this and this.
Seriously?? Now not only do I clean up after his messes but now he has an "Office" and authority to tell me to clean while he jumps on MY bed? funny kid. I did end up letting him jump on the bed while I finished laughing. Then I went back to sitting at the table being lazy.
I'll clean up the mess in the bedroom later.
When I'm not told to...
I have authority issues too you know.

I need Hayes to come and tell me what to do and in what order . . . or better yet, maybe we will both jump on the bed!

i hadn't heard about your little boy, dane, until you commented on my blog. needless to say i am heartbroken for you and hope you have felt sustained by the love and prayers of those around you. i have thought about you the last several weeks and hope you are feeling peace. i listen to christine's cd all the time and now be 'still my soul' is special to me also.
Reminds me of Bracken always ordering me around when we were younger, "It's YOUR turn to clean the bathroom."
What a funny kid...I think my response would show my authority issues as well. I love how Warren & Hayes let their imaginations go even when they are together. Cute friends.
