We have a rule in our house that Hayes has to try at least one bite of something he doesn't like at the dinner table. Every night there is usually one thing he doesn't like, if not all of what we're having. I know I'm picky but he's worse then I was as a kid (maybe my mom would disagree). I feel bad sometimes forcing him to try something but really? he doesn't even like rice, spaghetti or mac & cheese..aren't those kid staples?
Last night the only thing he liked on the table was grapes and he sat down to dinner and starting whining. "I don't like grapes!"
Which brought my adult whining of an eye roll and a groan.
Seriously? Your mouth was full of them at lunch...really? You literally had 10 grapes stuffed in your mouth at lunch, i shouldn't even offer them to you at dinner since you had so many for lunch...
"I don't like grapes!!"
Well you still have to try either baked potato, chicken or corn (I know..its not like we're having anything crazy)
Hayes just ignores me.
Then quietly says, trying not to smirk. "Since I don't like grapes, I'll try them."
That little stinker.

What a funny little guy! He must think he's so clever. I love it!
Sounds like he's got the system figured out - or so he thinks:>. Ellie is super picky too so I know how you feel about having to make them try new things and feeling bad. It was so good to see you a few weeks ago. Thanks so much for stopping by. Your kids are so adorable and Ellie had fun playing with Hayes.
Hmmmmmm. . . . I don't like chocolate!
Gotta love that kid!!!
Joe does the same thing to me at dinner so I feel Hayes' pain! We miss you guys, are you coming up at all this summer?
He's got you figured out!
You gotta love that Hayes!
Ha Ha, that is a great story. Love it. We need to plan a playdate.
He is full of it isn't he?
That is TOO FUNNY! What a smart little stinker!
He is such a smart little guy. Erica is the same way with food. She doesn't like really anything either.
