I do not remember the occasion that brought on the whining...but my kids were whining all day.
So I sat them down to explain a complexity of life and used a saying I picked up from our former neighbor.
"You get what you get, and you don't throw a fit"
Makes perfect sense right?
Kamri's response: "Don't whine or you don't get nuh-fin"
good enough she's getting the idea...at least she's remembering what else I say (I always ask What does whining get you? and they have to respond Nothing)
Hayes' response: "You get what you WANT, and you don't throw a fit"
Well...you better as heck not be whining if that's the case....but NOT what i was going for.....
those little. rascals.
they still whine. i mean comon!

Hee hee.. that's a pretty good one by Hayes. I think I might like his saying even better than the first! ;) Wouldn't it be great if life worked like that?
It's amazing how teenager-ish they get! I still can't get over how much I LOVE your pic on top.
i vowed to never say that phrase...but then i became a teacher.. sadly tho i still cant say it without doing an annoying voice.....
Someone taught that to my kids and it worked. I had somehow forgotten about the saying though - so thanks for reminding me of it. I will definitely be reminding them of this today!! BTW - I am so glad that I have been able to get to know you. You are quiet but slowly but surely I have been able to get to know and I think you are great!! Thanks for being a part of the preschool!!
LOL. Kids are so good at 'twisting' those words!
That's so cute. By the way I was wondering what your new phone number is. I called your old number the other day and got someone else. I hope that things are going well. By the way I was calling you to let you know that we are moving back to Cedar. Brent got a promotion and raise with State Bank. We are sad to be leaving Richfield, but it will be nice to be by family. We will have to have a play date sometime when we are back and you visit. Brent starts his Job in Jan. and we are hoping to sale our house before then. Love ya. Always thinking of you and your cute little family.
