Post Election

I was sitting here starting at my screen for five minutes trying to think of what to write and thankfully Emilie asked on my facebook wall if Hayes switched camps this morning when he heard the news.

Hayes was excited Obama won, but nothing too exciting to report. I can't even remember what his reaction was, something like "Sweet!"

My nephew on the other hand...he had a rough morning. If you didn't catch it on my sister's facebook...here is the video. I've watched it four times and still keep laughing. Poor Boy.

Finally! Thank you! I can now go to sleep.

Beckham was sad this morning and afraid to go to school because apparently him and another 2nd grade girl who’s family was voting for someone different than us had been going at it. (I had no idea) He was literally in tears telling me about the things he thought she might say because the guy she wanted to win did.

It made me so sad. For my son and that little girl. They are only 8! Kevin and I are very politically active, but try very hard to give our children political education based on facts. I forgot to factor in that Beckham is a dramatic fellow and I should have been proactive in teaching him that it’s OK for other people to want the opposite thing that you want just as badly. That just comes to me naturally, but I forgot that he is still learning.

Sigh.

Glad to know at least one member of your family got happy news today ;)
