I took no pictures of me swimming (obviously it would be hard to) so I had my mom take this picture afterward, and my dad did not think it looked like an official medal picture if it did not include the fake flowers off my mom's table. He thinks he's funny. I think so too, at least more often than I did as a teenager.
Swam the 200 meter freestyle, the 50 meter breaststroke yesterday and the 100 meter freestyle & 100 meter breaststroke today. I forgot to pack my goggles so I borrowed some the first day and the second day I bought a pair. My last race they fell off when I dove, but unfortunately not all the way off so I was forced to swim with a goggle mouth gag. I ended up with two golds and two silvers, but before you are super impressed just realize that there were only two or three other competitors in my age group and they did not swim in all the races. It was fun for me to race except for maybe when i got beat by a 54 year old...no it was still fun.
I got my hair trimmed from Lisa, who I've been going to since high school...only a few more inches until I chop it all off. Bracken studied, the kids played with cousins all day. Then we all went out to visit baby Dane.
Having fun hanging out with their brother.
We went out to eat with friends from Cache Valley that were in town for the summer games and then came home and chatted with parents & my brother & sister-in-law while the kids played. Hayes came up with this treasure hunt. He gave us the first clue that the next clue was under a chair. These are the other two clues (sorry on my phone i can't flip the picture, I'll fix it later.)
The nest map is in a drar. Its in the ckchen.
(The next map is in a drawer. It's in the kitchen.)
That kid is always keeping us laughing...
It also gave me a great idea to do a "treasure hunt" but have the clues be doing chores and then at the end they get their popsicle treasures, it will either be a compeletly awesome way to get them to do chores quickly or make them hate treasure hunts. It's worth a shot.

I love the treasure hunt idea. Ha ha. You make me laugh!
Once again I must say that you are amazing! Congratulations on winning, and don't downplay that accomplishment, because you know that in the Longhurst family, it is a major accomplishment to be able to swim more than one length of the pool, especially without a flotation device!
Congrats! That is awesome. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Love the treasure hunt idea, I might have to use that for Carter's school next year.
skye, i didn't know you were doing the summer games. that is so awesome! wear those medals with pride, no one needs to know details...but i agree with denise, you take full credit for accomplishing hard stuff. we love our DI trophies around here...again, no one needs to know details. :) sorry i missed your call the other day. my phone is having serious issues, i promise it's not me being lame with technology, it's the lame hand me down iPhone. hope to chat with you soon. love ya!
Way to go Skye & really you ARE amazing! Swimming at all with your face completely under water is a huge achievement in my eyes!
You're really cutting your hair? I've been coveting your long locks, but I totally get it.
Can't wait to hear how the treasure hunt goes!
