Today I told Hayes:
"We don't play with spiders on the table!"
Did I really just say that? So wrong on so many levels, add that to the list of things I never thought I'd say.....kids!
I had some quality time with just Hayes tonight reading Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems. I had heard Mo Willems was a good children's author but figured it was probably hyped up...but after reading his books with Hayes I'm a believer. Do I dare say, right up there with Dr. Seuss? Elephant and Piggie series are early readers and I love how he tells a funny story with so few words, and Hayes has learned how to read with different inflections, like how you verbalize question marks, exclamation points, italics, etc. I'd highly reccomend the books to anyone who has a child learning to read. Tonight he read to me "Elephant's can't dance" & "We are in a Book" I love listening to him giggle throughout the book and his excitement to get to the end to see what happens.
and now some quality me time reading my newest book from the library "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana De Rosnay, with Bracken's intermittent comments about the Super Tuesday returns. I'm grateful I can keep up with current events just by listening to Bracken. He reads it all and then tells me the important and/or exciting stuff. He's my news, political affairs, & current events Cliff Notes. (and so much more of course!)

I would love to do a web cam session with Hayes reading! Wasn't it just yesterday he and I were hanging out while you went to class?
Sorry - double posted!
