Crete

The last port of our cruise was Crete.  We were docked in a little port town named Souda.  Most of the excursions took a 20 minute bus ride to the larger city Chania. Souda was small, not anything touristy which made it fun to walk around the neighborhoods.  We walked up a street to the local church, the doors were open so we decided to check it out. It was amazing, it was smaller than other churches we been to but how they had it decorated took your breath away. It wasn't a tourist church, there was no one there. I didn't know if they'd want us in there but I had to get pictures. Unfortunately, I had left my camera on the boat so I just had my phone and it did not do a good job of picking up the true color of the rich, bright blue.
We continued up around an olive tree orchard (which i wish I would have taken a picture of!) and then back down and around the town to the little market grocery store.  Most of the houses had gardens and also lots of flowers, it was a beautiful little town.
At the grocery store we went looking for some treat to take home to the kids.  A boy around 9 years old started following us around. We tried to communicate to him through signs to ask what treat he liked the best.  He looked around the aisle and made his recommendation, we followed his recommendation and Hayes & Kamri enjoyed the cookies when we got home.
We headed back to the boat and hung out on the deck to read and watch the boat pull away from shore.

Later we went back to our room to get ready for dinner. We watched the parade in the promenade (a little street in the middle of the street) from our stateroom window that overlooked it. Then went to dinner and to a game show.
