Theater Seating

Bracken was gone tonight for a boy scout activity with the boys he is a leader over in our church.  My usual method of coping with that is get the kids in pj's early and offer to watch a movie before bed--tonight was no different. The kids excitedly got in their pajamas while I dreamed of laying on our bed with all of them and relaxing while they watched.  When I went to our room I remembered Bracken and I had moved the TV off the craft table in our room to provide him a "quiet" place to study for the bar. Our old box beast of a TV was moved to the desk in our office turned playroom.  The desk I bought off craigslist to sew at but is too tall so I still end up sewing at the kitchen table.  I groaned inside realizing that my comfy bed would not be where I would be laying.
The kids weren't phased and quickly set up seats.  It made me realize how grateful I should be for our home, even if it isn't perfect. Even if  I wish there was a third bedroom or just an extra closet bigger.  I thought about our recent vacation and how small of living spaces most of the world calls home. I'm grateful for my small kids who unknowingly teach me large lessons. As I snuggled on the floor with Hayes, Kamri, Buzz & Woody, with Lyla banging pots in the toy kitchen and 'Emperors New Groove' playing I realized our house doesn't have to be perfect. My kids have taught me again that simple can be magical.
