Frustrating

Today started out great.  Then it got a bit...frustrating. Lyla woke up this morning with a bit of a runny nose. She had a well check appointment today but I figured it would be okay since it was just a little clear runny nose.  I put her down for a nap before we left. When she woke up she was coughing and had a worse congested nose.  The doctor was reading her past visits and said... "Oh a sick visit, a cold, a sick visit...she hasn't had a well visit since 4 months! Please don't tell me she is sick now...."  Yep sir, a runny nose now can I punch you in the face for pointing out that my child has been sick most of her life.  Okay..I didn't say that. I said something lame like, Wow, she must really know how to get out of get out of her shots since she has been well for a month now and the day of her appointment she gets a runny nose.  So I get to go back in 10 days for her shots. Joy.
I also made an appointment for Hayes because he hasn't been hearing very well lately. He says "What?" all the time. Thinking it might be just him ignoring us we tested talking to him at different levels and he really can't hear when we talk quietly. He has told us his ears make funny noises when no one is talking and it's muffled sometimes when people talk. The doctor checked his ears and said one looked a little "scarred".  (His tubes fell out a couple months ago). So he's sending him to an ENT to get his hearing checked to see. He started talking to Hayes and then looked over at me and said "He's hearing me just fine." Thank you Captain obvious, I didn't say he was DEAF, just having a hard time hearing.
Then we went grocery shopping. Not one kids was horrible, just all three were a little naughty which made for a handful. Hayes was positive he couldn't walk anymore and after enough whining got Kamri to believe the same thing about herself. Lyla was hungry AND tired. A little old lady was feeling bad for me in the check out line and was trying to help me unload my cart. I was frazzled and  just let her do it but didn't say much. When I finally got the kids loaded in the cart I wished I would have thanked her. She was the first person here that has ever helped me when my kids were being a bit crazy instead of just staring at me like I should learn how to use birth control. She deserved a big hug.
We rushed home and made dinner, Bracken got home with time to eat and run to the church for Scouts. Then as I was feeding Lyla and reading the kids a book she started coughing and barfed everything back up all over me and herself.  I changed my clothes & Lyla's.  Got the kids in bed. Bracken got home and brought home "The Help" from Redbox to help make my day better.  I loved the book and have been wanting to see it since it came out!
Looking at the picture above reminds me of this morning as the kids were gathered on my lap and we were laughing at me trying to get all of them fit into the camera by looking at my phone through the mirror.  They are good, good, and funny kids. I love them. Even if there are days that are SOO frustrating. I'm grateful for the snapshots of time that are just wonderful.  Hopefully tomorrow there will be more of them...

Oh, Skye....I'm sorry. Those days are hard. I'm sure Heavenly Father gave that lady a hug for you!

Let me know if you have any hearing related questions. Karaia's had a hearing aid since she was 4 and I have tested Beckham and Tennyson when they turned 4 because they ALL started saying, "what?" a lot....turns out they were just 4. Ha! BUT I felt so much better getting them tested.

I'm loving this posting every day thing. It actually gives me something to look forward to in my reader since nobody seems to blog anymore. Love how Hayes sounds like a little Bracken Jr with all the politics. Keep it up--we're reading!
