I cheated and wrote this last night but posting it for tonight. Bracken and Hayes were gone camping with the scouts.
I had a wonderful night with my two favorite girls. We went to Target to get prizes for games for a baby shower tomorrow. Then to Panda Express for dinner. Then watching Aladdin while cuddling in bed. Lyla is only 9 months old but I can tell already that her and Kamri have very different personalities. While we were eating in Panda Express Kamri was making faces in the window at her reflection, then wiggling in her chair, singing to herself between bites. Lyla smiled at me from her carseat. After babbling to herself for awhile she fussed so I took her out. She gave me an open-mouth kiss in gratitude. Then sat in my lap, gazing around the room, while I ate.
Two very different girls that I love equally yet uniquely. I'm grateful I could have the night with just us girls. Funny how just calling it "a night out" makes a difference and reminds me to slow down and enjoy these little ones while they are still excited to be around me.
